Decorative Accessories
Descended from the cravat, neckties
are regarded as decorative accessories,
worn knotted around the neck to enhance a
particular shirt, suit or individual style.
Although, commonly seen as part of
everyday office clothing, neckties are
considered de riguer, as part of formal
attire. As such, variants include the
bow tie, ascot tie and bolo tie.
Mood & Occasion
Traditionally, neckties are worn with the
top shirt button fastened. However, in
recent years, it has become increasingly
common for neckties to be worn as
a casual item, tied loosely around the neck.
Hence, depending on the mood
and occasion, one or more buttons may
be
spontaneously unfastened.
Size & Individual Style
Modern neckties are usually unsized
in length but three widths are generally
available; skinny, standard and wide. |
